Our history

Hijos de Eustaquio Abad y Cía. S.L. – HEA&CO in short – is a family Company and by tradition dealing with Saffron. Our original firm established in 1874 has been exporting ever since Spanish Saffron worldwide.
Our main work is to directly deal with the farmers when gathering Saffron from the fields thus we can ensure the best quality and price are supplied to the consumers. A special packing will keep Saffron properties and characteristics wholly fresh.

Saffron is the most expensive spice in the world (the red gold). About 235 thousand flowers are need to gather one kg of saffron.

The HEA&CO has among the equipment an own laboratory with the last technology available to conduct their own analysis and measurements.
More than 150 years of experience in the saffron industry allows us to do an especial selection of saffron every new crop, analysing all and each one of the different batches, either in our own laboratory or by external approved companies, in order to keep the food safety as the strongest and first requisite.
